Unemployed West Virginians are bracing for the end of unemployment benefits. West Virginia and eight other states are pulling the plug on federal pandemic unemployment programs today. That will cut off benefits to over four-hundred-thousand people about three months earlier than the September deadline. Governor Justice and several other Republican governors are stopping the benefits early, contending that it is keeping people from returning to work.
