At the beginning of March, Kanawha, Cabell, Wayne and Mingo Counties all experienced significant flooding, and qualified for individual assistance from FEMA. The July 19 application deadline is approaching, and state representaives along with many from FEMA were in Kermit this week helping people get registered. More than sixty people were there looking for help repairing damage. Applicants can expect to get an inspection and then once that’s reviewed, they’ll get a letter that will detail how the process will unfold.
