The CDC is meeting with the Kanawha-Charleston HIV Task Force one week into an investigation into an HIV outbreak in the county. Since 2019 there have been nearly seventy new cases of HIV associated with injection drug use. Three CDC teams will make a rapid assessment and will make short and long term recommendations on how to deal with the problem.
