Lincoln County EMS Asks to Buy New Ambulances

Lincoln County EMS is looking to replace six of its nine ambulances. EMS Director Trish Watson told WCHS TV all but two have more than 200,000 miles on them. A few weeks ago they had five trucks break down and that left the agency with only four, which doesn’t cover its needs. Lincoln County doesn’t have a hospital, which means the ambulances rack up 30 to 50 miles on the trip to Cabell-Huntington or St. Mary’s, or further to Charleston. The EMS department recently brought its request to the Lincoln County Commission, asking them to purchase three, while they take care of the other three. If approved, the county would use CARES Act funds.
