The West Virginia National Guard is still waiting to be reimbursed for helping protect the U.S. Capitol after the January 6th riots. The Guard sent about 475 troops to the Capitol in mid-January in the lead up to the presidential inauguration. The state’s adjutant general says the National Guard won’t have the money for regularly scheduled training next month, as well as, additional education that effects long-term readiness. The federal government owes West Virginia almost six-million-dollars.
