The city of Charleston opened four cooling centers that will offer air conditioned shelter and cold water through Friday. The Roosevelt Neighborhood Center at 502 Ruffner Avenue is open noon to 8 p.m. Other locations with hours from 9 am to 9 pm are the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, North Charleston Community Center, and Kanawha City Community Center.
