A Charleston man who police said made a lunging movement toward them with a knife before he was shot by police pleaded not guilty to charges. Denaul Lee Dickerson was indicted by a Kanawha County grand jury earlier this month on charges of breaking and entering, malicious assault of a law enforcement officer, assault on a law enforcement officer and battery. During his arraignment Thursday via a virtual hearing he pleaded not guilty to all of the charges. The judge set Dickerson’s trial for Dec. 6 and continued his $50,000 cash only bond.
