Active COVID-19 cases approaching 20,000

The West Virginia coronavirus task force is concerned that the spike in COVID-19 cases will overwhelm hospitals and force other procedures to be postponed. There are more than two-thousand new positive cases of the virus, and the number of active cases is almost 20-thousand. More than seven-hundred patients are in the hospital. A new model estimates that hospitalizations will peak at 15-hundred later this month. The number of patients now on ventilators has surpassed the peak of the last surge.
