Ashland Dentist and His Wife Face Tax Crime Charges

An Ashland, Ky., dentist and office manager have been charged with federal tax crimes after they were accused of spending thousands on personal expenses and defrauding the IRS. William Thorner and Kathy Thorner were charged Sept. 16 in a multiple-count federal indictment, according to a news release Monday from the IRS. The indictment accuses the couple of failing to truthfully account for and pay over Social Security taxes, making false returns and conspiring to defraud the IRS. William Thorner owned and operated Caring Dentistry in Ashland, and Kathy Thorner worked with her husband as the office manager and bookkeeper.
