The overall well-being of children in the state is improving. New data from West Virginia Kids Count shows the state 43rd overall in economic well-being, which is up from 48th last year. There are gains in education with more seniors graduating from high school. Poverty is still the biggest challenge among low ranking counties like McDowell, Summers and Logan.
