More than 1,300 flu vaccines and 200 COVID-19 vaccines were administered Saturday in Kanawha County as part of a multi-site “Arms Across Kanawha” event. The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department held an eight-site clinic throughout the county to help expand vaccine access and a total of 1,393 flu vaccines and 213 COVID-19 vaccines were administered. The clinics were held at Elkview Baptist Church, Sissonville High School, Nitro High School, South Charleston High School, St. Albans High School, George Washington High School, Capital High School and Riverside High School. The free flu vaccinations were made possible by grant funding from the Kanawha County Commission.
