A former Horace Mann Middle School aide is pleading not guilty to battery. A Kanawha County grand jury handed down an indictment on Friday accusing James Lynch of striking a special needs student multiple times from February to March. Lynch was an aide in a classroom at Horace Mann, but he left the classroom before other abuse was discovered in May.
