Former Charleston Wheelers player, Jimmie Gardner, will receive three-million dollars in a settlement with the state and Kanawha County. Gardner’s conviction was overturned after spending more the twenty-five-years in prison for sexual assault. The judge ruled that he was convicted on false testimony from a disgraced West Virginia State Police medical examiner.
