Governor Justice unleashed a nearly five-minute rant directed at Charleston Mayor Amy Goodwin after she requested a special session of the legislature. Goodwin sent a letter to the governor, senate president, and house speaking calling on them to address policy on substance abuse, homelessness, and mental health. At one point the governor referred to Goodwin as “Amy, baby,” and suggested that she should do something to end homelessness in Charleston. Goodwin called Justice’s comments sexist and hateful.
