Special Metals Workers Continue to Strike

It’s been three weeks since the Special Metals strike began in Huntington. Union workers are hoping to come to agreement with the company about pay, benefits and labor practices. Because the workers have gone three weeks without pay, a drive has been organized for food and supplies for the workers. WCHS TV said the striking members of the United Steelworkers local 40 union can’t say much about their ongoing negotiations, but they did express appreciation for the people and businesses that have stepped up. The company said it is still in talks with the union about a fair agreement.
