A man who had been considered armed and dangerous is now in custordy. Mitchell Hughes was accused of shooting and killing a woman and her unborn child and a manhunt happened Monday in the Kanawha State Forest area. 22-year old Ashley Goad and her unborn child were killed outside of a home on the 1600 block of Left Fork Road in Comfort in Boone County and neighbors found Hughes at their front door. After a 6-hour manhunt, deputies located Hughes in the Kanawha State Forest and Hughes will face two counts of first degree murder. Hughes also stole a Boone County deputy’s cruiser during the events Monday.
