Gov. Jim Justice has appointed Kathie Hess Crouse to fill a vacancy in the House of Delegates following the resignation of Josh Higginbotham. Crouse is a resident of Buffalo and will represent District 13, which covers parts of Putnam, Jackson and Mason counties. Crouse is a Republican and most recently ran for the West Virginia Senate’s District 8 position in 2020, where she lost to Democrat Glenn Jeffries. Higginbotham resigned from his position earlier this month after moving out of his district to Kanawha County. Crouse will serve the remainder of his term.
