Petco Love and renowned dog trainer Victoria Stilwell are teaming up to honor Unsung Heroes across the country for their lifesaving efforts on behalf of animals. Charleston resident, Jerry Anderson, is one of five finalists to earn the title of Unsung Hero this year, as well as a $10,000 Petco Love grant for his animal welfare organization in his honor. Anderson was surprised on Monday at a surprise presentation ceremony a the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association in Charleston. Jerry takes the time to educate the public on the laws of animal ownership and started a pet retention program on his own which he simply calls, “helping out those in need.” To learn more about Unsung Heroes and view previous year’s winners, visit
