New details have been released after deputies said a man shot and killed his father over the weekend in Boone County. Jeremy Bennett of Danville is charged with first-degree murder for the shooting death of his father, Ray Bennett. According to a criminal complaint filed in Boone County Magistrate Court, Bennett shot his father twice outside of a home on Arden Lane in Danville on Saturday. Bennett is then accused of taking the content of his father’s wallet and his car keys before he fled the scene and crashed on Route 119 on Bradley Road around 3:30 p.m. Deputies said Bennett also confessed to the shooting. Bennet is being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail with no bond.
