During the month of January severe flooding trapped some Putnam County families living near Poca in their homes. Now the county has stepped in to try and correct the issue, and the work is finishing up this week along Heizer Creek Road and others. WCHS TV said the area floods 3 to 4 times a year and high water has trapped some residents in their homes. Contractors with Putnam County are working to remove the debris and haul away the trees and branches so water can flow freely through the area. The cost of the project is $6,000.
