Milton Middle School teacher Brian Casto was named the West Virginia Teacher of the Year this week. Casto is an 8th grade West Virginia studies teacher and creates lessons and two-minute animated videos that preserve the history and culture of the state. Katherine Miller was named the School Service Personnel of the Year and she’s had that role at Wayne High School for 19 years. She has been involved in the development and implementation of her school’s meal pick-up program, school improvement days and cooking pre-game meals for the football team. Awards were presented at a ceremony at the state Capitol Complex in Charleston.
