Members of the House Health and Human Resources committee held a public hearing on the bill Monday afternoon on a bill that would ban abortions after 15 weeks, with a few exceptions. HB 4004 mirrors Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban, a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade that guarantees the constitutional right to abortion. That case is currently before the U.S. Supreme Court. West Virginia’s HB 4004 next goes to the House Judiciary Committee.
