Masks are temporarily being required for everyone at West Virginia University – regardless of vaccination status – indoors in all buildings and facilities. The university said unvaccinated students, faculty and staff also are being encouraged to get a COVID-19 vaccine first or second dose, or booster. The mask mandate began Tuesday, Jan. 4 and will be in place through at least Feb. 1 when public health conditions will be re-evaluated. Classes begin Monday, Jan. 10.
