Coal Grove City Council Appoints New Police Chief

The Village of Coal Grove, Ohio has a new police chief. City council members appointed Bill Murphy as chief of police. Murphy worked on the Proctorville Police Department for the past 20 years and served as their chief for the past 14 of those years. The former chief and three other officers resigned in January as the chief cited unethical requests by the mayor. The former chief’s claims were ruled unfounded by an ethics commission.
