An event last weekend raised money to fight hunger. The Kanawha Valley Disc Golf Club hosted its annual “Freeze Out Hunger” tournament at Coonskin Park and raised $2,600 for area youth in need. About 100 disc golfers took part and proceeds benefited the Feed My Sheep program run by Redeemer Lutheran Church in Charleston. Those involved helped gather more than 500 pounds of food for the program in addition to monetary donations. The next disc golf event for our region will be held at Dunbar City Park on March 19.
