Jenkins stepping down from state Supreme Court

West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Evan Jenkins is resigning from the court, and plans to return to private law practice. He sent Governor Justice a letter announcing his plans to leave, effective on Monday. Jenkins was elected to the seat in November, 2018, for a term that ends in 2024. Governor Justice says the Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission will begin the process of filling Jenkins seat, and a new justice will likely be on the 2022 General ballot.
