Veterans walked 2.2 miles at the West Virginia Capitol this week to help bring awareness to suicide prevention. Walk for Vets said an average of 22 veterans take their own life every day. The combination of the pandemic, post-traumatic stress disorder, military sexual trauma, traumatic brain injury and other issues have led to the epidemic of suicide among veterans and service members. The goal is to walk 2.2 miles in 22 states in 22 days. Walk for Vets will head to Columbus next and will finish in Indianapolis.
