Retired Wood County Sheriff Steve Stephens is denying accusations by a former deputy that he created a hostile work environment and harassed employees. A lawsuit accuses Stephens of making derogatory and sexist comments, and inappropriately touching a female officer. Stephens stepped down in December after a no-confidence vote by members of the Wood County Deputy Sheriff’s Association.
