Charleston voters can now determine who has thrown their hat in the ring for city offices in the 2022 election. With the Jan. 29 deadline now past, two candidates have filed in the mayor’s race – incumbent Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin, a Democrat, and Martec D. Washington, a Democrat, according to the city of Charleston’s website. Two candidates have filed for municipal judge, Anne B. Charnock, a Republican, and Matthew Smith, a Democrat. For the city treasurer’s race, Victor Grigoraci, a Democrat, and Ben Adams, a Democrat, have filed. The city election will be during the primary on May 10.
