The COVID-19 omicron variant appears to have reached its peak in West Virginia. State Coronavirus Czar Dr. Clay Marsh says average daily cases and daily positive rates are declining, but hospitalizations will likely remain high for the a few more weeks. DHHR is confirming less than three-thousand new cases in the past 24-hours. The omicron sub-variant has been detected in Berkeley and Ohio counties, but it is not expected to have a significant impact.
