Gas Prices Could Reach $4 Per Gallon

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has shaken up the oil market. Crude oil spiked to more than $100 per barrel last week after Russia launched its attack on Ukraine, and settled back into the low $90s to close out the week. AAA officials predict the national average will top $4 a gallon as early as St. Patrick’s Day. The last time the national average exceeded the $4 mark was July 2008. According to AAA, the average in West Virginia is $3.37 a gallon, which is up 5 cents from last week and and has climbed 16 cents in the past month.
