A new fire station will be under construction soon at the corner of 20th Street and 9th Avenue in Huntington. The initial design is finished, along with environmental testing, and according to an update at this week’s city council meeting, construction is the next step. The build could begin this summer at a cost of $4.9 million, and the new fire station would be finished in the summer of 2023. Another new fire station is also being planned for the Westmoreland neighborhood and that’s in the early design phases now.
