A longtime Cabell County Schools Board of Education member has passed away.
Garland “Skip Parsons had served on the board for about 12 years, according to a news release from the school system. Parsons had worked in the district’s maintenance department before retiring as the department’s coordinator in 2006, with 50 years of service. School officials said they were deeply saddened about the loss of Parsons and he will be deeply missed.
