Spring Burning Laws Are In Effect Now

Spring daytime burning limits went into effect in West Virginia on Tuesday. Some outdoor burning is prohibited from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March 1 to May 31, according to the West Virginia Division of Forestry. The burning season laws exclude small fires for the purpose of food preparation, warmth or light as long as all grass, brush, stubble or debris has been removed for at least 10 feet.
