State Lawmakers Consider Mask Issue

The West Virginia House of Delegates has passed bills that would allow parents to decide if they want their children to wear masks at school and would prohibit prohibit public schools from issuing mask mandates. The Public School Health Rights Act would also prohibit public schools from mandating COVID-19 testing and quarantining under certain circumstances. Those opposed to the bill said they think this bill takes control away from local school boards. Supporters want decisions to be left up to individual families. House Bill 4071 now goes to the state Senate.
