WV Senate passes budget bill

The state Senate approved a budget bill that closely mirrors the governor’s four-point-65-billion-dollar budget request. Senators made just over nine-million-dollars in tweaks, allocating two-million-dollars to the Department of Tourism, over a million-dollars for sexual assault intervention, and almost two-million-dollars to WVU. It was a different story in the House. The finance committee made significant changes to Governor Justice’s request, which will lead to a number of back-and-fourth meetings in the upcoming final week of the legislative session.
