A Kanawha County man hauled in a record-setting blue catfish earlier this month. The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources said Cody Carver, of Dry Branch, caught and released a 61.28 pound fish from a boat in the Kanawha River on April 8. The fish broke a state record for weight by a pound and a half. The record fish was 45.51 inches long and was caught using cut shad for bait.
