Former Horace Mann Middle School Teacher’s Aide Enters Plea

A former teacher’s aide at Horace Mann Middle School pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of misdemeanor battery. James Lynch was indicted last October on seven counts after the indictment alleged that Lynch struck a student several times from February to March last year. Eyewitness News previously confirmed through the victim’s attorney Ben Salango that the victim in the Lynch case is 14-year-old Nehemiah Hill, a nonverbal special needs student. He was also a victim in the previous cases. The teacher, Anthony Wilson of Beckley, is also charged with battery. His case is still playing out in magistrate court. Lynch will be sentenced on June 2.
