Former Postal Worker Pleads Guilty to Misappropriation of Funds

A former U.S. Postal Service employee who worked at an office in Logan County pleaded guilty this week to misappropriation of postal funds. Federal prosecutors said 31-year old Brittany Ellis of Blair worked at the Blair Post Office and admitted to taking more than $4,800 in proceeds from the sale of money orders. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia said the incidents occurred between Oct. 11, 2018, and Dec. 7, 2018. Ellis is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11 and faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
