Fundraising Efforts Are Important at Camp Virgil Tate

Easter came early to Camp Virgil Tate. The camp hosted an Egg-Stravaganza last weekend as the space looks to offer more to Sissonville and all Kanawha County residents. About 10,000 eggs were scattered throughout the camp last Saturday and kids grabbed prizes supplied by 4H. WCHS TV said Camp Virgil Tate has been a part of the community since 1954, but experienced a decrease in visitors since the pandemic. Camp Virgil Tate’s primary source of funding comes from 4H registration as well as the Kanawha County Commission. All revenues from Egg-Stravaganza will be used to fund operations, repairs and renovations.
