A solar farm project is in the works in Jackson County. The Dixon Run Solar Farm is planned to go up on 2,000 acres of land in the area along Dixon Run Road and is estimated to create 500 or more jobs per year for the first couple of years, and generate $1 million in revenue. Some have brought up concerns about the impact on the land and property values, along with dangers to wildlife. The project is on track to begin construction in 2023.
