The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department is conducting a pilot program to test dash cams and body cameras. The department has never used body cameras, and it’s been at least ten years since cameras were in squad cars. The department wants to buy sixty dash cams, sixty body cameras for deputies, and an addditional thirty cameras for detectives.
