Expect traffic jams on one of the busiest and bumpiest roads in Charleston. Construction on MacCorkle Avenue begins Monday. The plan is to remove multiple layers of patched asphalt and the base layer of concrete. The first area to be worked on will be between 33rd and 40th Street. Eventually the construction will continue to the Turnpike. The project will take two years.
