Man Pleads Guilty After Attacking a Charleston Police Officer With a Rock

A man from Baltimore pleaded guilty Thursday morning after he was arrested for attacking a Charleston police officer with a rock. Anthony Gamble will be sentenced in June. He faces up to five years on the felony charge and up to a year for the battery. In July 2020, Patrolman Chelsea McCoy responded to the Greyhound bus station after reports of a man throwing rocks at a bus. Police said Gamble attacked McCoy,hit her with the rock, got on top of her and hit her in the face and head with his fists. Gamble tried to get McCoy’s gun, but McCoy was able to maneuver so he couldn’t.
