Middle School Principal is Begin Investigated Over Dress Code Comments

Students, parents and community members went to the Cabell County Board of Education meeting on Tuesday to voice their concerns about things that were allegedly said during a dress code assembly at Huntington East Middle School on Friday. Students tell Eyewitness News that the principal, De Perry, called all girls to an assembly where she reminded them of the school’s dress code. Students say she then told them if they wore inappropriate clothes and someone touched them inappropriately, she would not listen to them. Several people went to the board meeting demanding action. A spokesperson with Cabell County Schools says they were made aware of the situation the day it happened and that it is an active investigation and a personnel matter.
