WV Senate candidate fights citizenship dispute

A candidate for state senate is being sued less than two weeks before the election. The lawsuit seeks to boot Republican candidate Andrea Kiessling off the ballot because she doesn’t meet the state citizenship requirement. The state requires that a candidate must reside in West Virginia for five-years prior to filing for office. Kiessling says she has worked and voted in North Carolina over the past few years. But she maintains that she is a citizen of West Virginia.
