Charleston Police Search for Car Stolen from a Gas Station

Charleston police are searching for a man who stole a car from a Charleston gas station on Saturday that had a child inside. The suspect eventually let the 6-year-old girl out of the car after she screamed and kicked the seat wanting out. The car that was stolen is a red 2014 Kia Optima with West Virginia license plate 33T733 and it was stolen from the Piggly Wiggly on Spring Street around 3 p.m. Saturday. The car was left running while the owner was inside the store, according to a news release from the Charleston Police Department. The child was not hurt and was let out of the car at Giovanni’s Pizza on Spring Street.
