On April 1, Poca Foodfair closed its doors, leaving employees scrambling to find work. Foodfair was the only grocery store in the Poca region that sold fresh vegetables, so many residents who lived within walking distance of Foodfair had to look elsewhere for groceries. WCHS TV said relief is on the way as the former Foodfair location will soon be home to a new grocery store. Poca council members said a private buyer will be taking over the building in the near future. The building’s reopening date is still being worked out and has not yet been announced.
