Several Counties Begin Flood Cleanup

A state of emergency was issued in Cabell, Putnam and Roane counties due to heavy rainfall and damage on Friday, Gov. Jim Justice’s office announced Saturday. The state of emergency will remain in effect for thirty days unless it’s terminated. Huntington City officials said public works crews will begin hauling away debris and household items damaged by high water conditions this morning. Workers will focus on Enslow Park and the areas between Fourpole Creek and 10th Avenue from Hal Greer Boulevard to Fifth Street West. The City is keeping residents updated on the City of Huntington web page and Facebook page.
