Airports Face a Shortage of Maintenance Workers

A shortage of maintenance technicians at airports around the country may impact summer travel plans. According to the Aeronautical Repair Station Association, the shortage could be costing the industry $2 billion dollars per year. WCHS TV said there are many openings for maintenance technicians for cargo planes, major airlines, and corporate aviation, and as the industry grows so does the struggle to keep up with the demand. Students can become certified technicians in 18 months through a combined program between Marshall University and Mountwest Community Technical College.
